Areas where ICTs are used
Education ICTs:
- Mobile Learning: mobile devices with internet access and computing capabilities will soon overtake personal computers as the information appliance of choice in the classroom.
- Cloud Computing: provides the ubiquitous connectivity to access information sitting in the “cloud”.
- Ubiquitous learning: In addition to hardware and Internet access, it requires the availability of virtual mentors or teachers, and/or opportunities for peer to peer and self-paced, deeper learning.

Science ICTs:
- Body Scanners: Body scanners allow doctors to find and treat conditions such as tumours in their early stages when the chances of treating them successfully are much greater.
- Organ Transplants: Computerised databases are used to help match patients who are waiting for organ transplants such as a new kidney, liver or heart, with suitable organs from donors.
- Patient monitoring: Computers are used in hospitals to monitor critically ill patients in intensive care units.

Conclusion: In my opinion, ICTs are very important in our everyday life, we use them all the time without noticing; the ICTs that I investigated work in the areas of Business, Medicine, Transport and Education; they are very important in these areas because they help make everything easier for the people that work in there.
